Esta vez obra del proyecto de estudio/explotation alemán The Ravers (también conocidos como The Tonics) Bajo la producción de Herbert Hildebrant (antiguo miembro de The Rattles, en algunos blogs de internet nombrado "el Kim Fowley alemán") , miembros de The Rattles / Wonderland (Achim Reichel) y The German Bonds produjeron una serie de álbumes de estudio para aprovechar el tirón de los sonidos del momento, entre ellos algunos tan conocidos como Hell Preachers Inc. o Bokaj Retsiem.

Mad, Mad World es una de esas fascinantes ediciones. Teniendo en mente el duro sonido beat/psych rock de la época (el disco se editó originalmente en 1969) y los ritmos que mueven una pista de baile se sacaron de la manga esta soberbia colección de temazos groovy con grandes dosis de Hammond, fuzz y wah wah. Más de una canción del disco debería estar en toda maleta de DJ que se precie, siendo la más directa de ellas 'What Can You Do For Your Country', pero el LP entero está lleno de temazos, desde el fuertemente influenciado por los Kinks 'We've Got Too Much' hasta fantásticos duelos órgano contra guitarra reminiscentes de los primerísimos Deep Purple.

Combining the era's hardest beat and psych rock sounds and danceable rhythms, this is a superb collection of groovy Hammond/fuzz/wah-wah driven freak rock, with influences ranging from The Kinks to early Deep Purple, and much inbetween. By the way, These guys didn't only release records as The Tonics and The Ravers. In the '60s and early '70s they released material under no less than 50 different guises (f.i. The Spots, Movers, Buster Churchill & The Beat-Tigers, The Pick-Ups and Ten O'Clock Bubblegum Train) for no less than 30 labels in many styles, from r'n'r to beat, and from psych to bubblegum pop! Indeed, The Tonics/Ravers represent a remarkable piece of rock history and this album is one of their best -and certainly mind blowing- releases!
