Blowing selected minds since 2008, TBWNIAS have so far let fly 11 vinyl only LPs, most in hideously limited numbers, and have become a 'cult band' in psych circles; a look on Discogs shows hardly any of their LPs for sale - once you own a slab of TBWNIAS on wax, you ain't gonna part with it and with good reason.
For those 'not in the know' TBWNIAS are a collection of musicians from Ottawa, Canada who play some of the best improv, free form psych this side of ... well, anywhere really. John Westhaver, proprietor of Birdman Sound record store in Ottawa and a man who has the spirit of rock flowing through his veins, and his compatriots Bill Guerrero, Nathaniel Hurlow, Jason Vaughan, Dave Reford and Scott Thompson who joins on the Space Horn for "Elevator" - the TBWNIAS are a rarity in their own right - a cult classic recognised in their own time.
"Elevator" is an album born of consummate musicianship and the experience of a bunch of guys tuned into each other and totally getting off on it as a collision of motoric rock with a dusting of jazz-centric surrealism bursts from the speakers and all offered up in the centre ring of a very bizarre circus somewhere in the cosmos. Wonderfully mastered by the bands secret weapon (Chris Hardman) and pressed in a run of 350 that will give you the chance to feel the thrill of owning a slice of TBWNIAS - Get on it.
