Pressed in a limited edition (three hundred numbered copies), 'Gimme Some Neck' collects on four CDs of material mainly from Ron Wood's eponymous third solo album, released in April 1979 by Columbia. The first disc contains rough mixes, early versions, and outtakes recorded between Paris and Los Angeles the previous year with Charlie Watts on drums, Pops Powell on bass, and Ian McLagan on organ; the second includes demos, alternate takes, live performances, and collaborations with Ringo Starr, Ian Stewart, Ronnie Lane, Charlie Sexton, and other musicians; the third includes his participation in the 2019 Chuck Berry tribute with the Wild Five, and the fourth includes studio and live performances during the 1992 American tour with McLagan, singer Bernard Fowler, keyboardist Chuck Leavell, and others.
