A mix of audience recordings and soundboard sources document some dates of the American tour that Led Zeppelin undertook in 1977. The concerts reproduced in full in the limited edition box set (300 numbered copies) are those of 28 and 30 May at the Capital Center in Landover, Maryland; on June 3 at Tampa Stadium in Tampa, Florida; on June 7, 10 and 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York and on June 19 at the Sports Arena in San Diego, California. Eleventh and final American tour of the English quartet, it should have continued until August but was interrupted due to the sudden death of Robert Plant Karac's son, the final blow to a round of concerts that redefines the concept of 'stadium rock' but which was not free from problems of various kinds. The title track 'Mystery Train' is obviously the cover of the song made famous by Elvis Presley, performed at the opening of the San Diego show and an impromptu rarity in a setlist that typically began with 'The Song Remains The Same' and ended (in the second and third phases of the tour) with 'Whole Lotta Love' and 'Rock And Roll'; each concert featured an acoustic part (during which John Paul Jones took up his new three-necked instrument with six-string guitar, twelve-string guitar and mandolin) and included only two songs from the most recent album, 'Presence' ('Nobodys' Fault But Mine' and 'Achilles Last Stand')
