‘Rattle That Lock’ es el cuarto álbum en solitario de David Gilmour, tras su No.1 de 2006 ‘On An Island’. La autora principal de las letras es Polly Samson, quién ha acompañado a Gilmour desde hace años; el álbum ha sido co-producido por David Gilmour y Phil Manzanera de Roxy Music. La impresionante portada de ‘Rattle That Lock’ ha sido supervisada por Dave Stansbie de The Creative Corporation bajo la dirección creativa de Aubrey Powell de Hipgnosis.
El track Rattle That Lock se ha estrenado y ya está disponible inmediatamente para descarga y streaming en todo el mundo.
La canción comienza con las cuatro notas, creadas por Michaël Boumendil, que preceden los anuncios de las estaciones de tren francesas que Gilmour grabó con su iPhone en la estación de Aix-en-Provence. Las letras de Samson se inspiraron en el Libro 2 de Paraíso Perdido de John Milton, que también aparece en su reciente y aclamada novela, The Kindness. El single también incluye la participación de The Liberty Choir y las cantantes Mica Paris y Louise Marshall.
