Impreso en edición limitada en doble vinilo de 180 gramos de color violeta y presentado en una elegante portada gatefold, este doble LP contiene la grabación del magnífico concierto que Tom Waits ofreció el 1 de abril de 1999 para el programa televisivo VH1 Storytellers, en el sugestivo e improbable escenario del aeropuerto de Aeropuerto de Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena.
En la terminal, acondicionada como un estudio de televisión, el cantautor de Pomona presentó un repertorio generoso en clásicos (“Tango Till They’re Sore”, “Hang Down Your Head”, “Ol’ 55”, “Strange Weather”, “Downtown Train”, “Jersey Girl”), intercalados con temas de su reciente “Mule Variations” como “Hold On”, “Picture In A Frame”, “House Where Nobody Lives”, “Get Behind The Mule”, “Chocolate Jesus” y “What’s He Building?”.
El programa, emitido algún tiempo después por VH1, fue editado y recortado por exigencias televisivas, mientras que esta publicación a cargo de The Vinyl Champ reproduce el concierto íntegro, aderezado con los surrealistas interludios hablados de Waits.

Pressed in a limited edition on double 180-gram purple vinyl and housed in a beautiful gatefold sleeve, this double LP features the recording of the outstanding concert that Tom Waits performed on April 1, 1999 for the television program VH1 Storytellers, set in the evocative and unlikely surroundings of Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport.
In the terminal, staged as a television studio, the Pomona singer-songwriter delivered a generous set of classics (“Tango Till They’re Sore,” “Hang Down Your Head,” “Ol’ 55,” “Strange Weather,” “Downtown Train,” “Jersey Girl”), interspersed with tracks from his then-recent album “Mule Variations,” such as “Hold On,” “Picture In A Frame,” “House Where Nobody Lives,” “Get Behind The Mule,” “Chocolate Jesus,” and “What’s He Building?”.
The program, broadcast some time later by VH1, was edited and trimmed for television purposes, whereas this release by The Vinyl Champ presents the complete show, enhanced by Waits’ surreal spoken interludes.
