A pesar de no ser uno de los discos más conocidos de Ray Pérez, “Ra! Rai!” merece serlo. El LP está repleto de himnos de salsa dura aderezados con un atrevido y excéntrico eclecticismo que refleja el genio único del pianista venezolano.

Por suerte el álbum ha sido ahora rescatado de la oscuridad y cuidadosamente restaurado, remasterizado de las cintas originales, totalmente licenciado, con su arte original de Pyraphon intacto, preservando y presentando el legado de esta gran música venezolana para la generación actual de aficionados a la salsa dura.

While it may not be one of Ray Pérez’s most well-known albums, “Ra! Rai!” certainly deserves to be. The LP is full of heavy salsa anthems and brave, quirky eclecticism that reflects the Venezuelan pianist’s unique genius.
 
Thankfully, the record has been rescued from obscurity and lovingly restored, remastered from the original tapes, fully licensed, with its original Pyraphon artwork intact, preserving and presenting the legacy of this great music for today’s generation of global salsa dura fans everywhere.
