Para celebrar su vigésimo aniversario, el álbum colaborativo entre Mark Knopfler, de Dire Straits, y Emmylou Harris, «All The Roadrunning», se reedita en vinilo de color para el Record Store Day 2026, lo que supone el primer lanzamiento en vinilo del álbum fuera de Estados Unidos.All The Roadrunning, un tesoro de duetos grabados a lo largo de siete años, se publicó originalmente en 2006 y fue un éxito entre los diez primeros en el Reino Unido y número 1 en varios países europeos. El álbum incluye la canción que da título al disco, que se publicó como single y alcanzó el número 8 en las listas británicas, así como los singles «This Is Us» y «Beachcombing».En aquel momento, Knopfler, que conoció a Harris en un especial televisivo de Chet Atkins, dijo: «El respeto y el afecto de Emmylou por los músicos y la música me impresionaron entonces y aún hoy me siguen impresionando. En mis composiciones, había tratado bastante el tema de la forma masculina/femenina. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the collaboration album between Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris, All The Roadrunning, is reissued on 2LP smoky marble vinyl as part of Record Store Day 2026.
A treasure trove of duets recorded over a period of seven years, All The Roadrunning, was originally released in 2006 and was a top ten hit in the UK, and a number 1 in multiple European countries. The album includes a title track that was released as a single and reached number 8 in the UK charts, as well as singles “This Is Us” and “Beachcombing”.
Speaking at the time, Knopfler, who first met Harris on a Chet Atkins TV special, said “Emmylou’s respect and affection for the players and the music struck me then and still does. In my writing, I’d been dealing a fair bit with the male/female shape. With that amazing voice, Emmylou, now more than ever, seems to capture a kind of universal female experience, something that speaks to all ages. After our first session and then making a couple of duets for a Hank Williams tribute, I thought we should go on recording, and thankfully Emmylou felt the same.”
In Emmylou’s words, “Making this album was a pure joy—being surrounded by extraordinary musicians and guided by one of the great artists of our time. Truly it is a gift for which I will always be grateful.”
Neil McCormick's review of the album for the Telegraph in the UK described it as “one of the best albums of both their careers”.
