Harry Mudie, a Spanish Town-based producer with a background in sound systems and electronics, found lasting success in the reggae era of the late 1960s to mid-1970s, working with artists like Dennis Walks and I Roy. The first volume of the Dub Conference series, created with King Tubby, features dub versions of Mudie’s standout productions, including ‘Lorna’s Dance’ (a horn-and-percussion take on Caught You In A Lie) and a strings version of the Heptones’ Love Without Feeling. It’s a powerful, stripped-down showcase of classic reggae dub.
